"Kushi
Institute teachers showed me how cancer did not have to be a death sentence.
2008 is my seventeenth year cancer-free since I was told by my doctor there was
no cure from my stage 4 metastatic non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. Macrobiotics
also relieved my husband Larry from bursitis and tendonitis. Along with healing,
there are countless ways macrobiotics has made both our lives more meaningful,
enjoyable and fulfilling. We will always be grateful to Kushi Institute."

Dear
Friends,
Perhaps
you or a loved one were one of those fortunate people, such as Judy and Larry,
who were helped through a serious health crisis by Kushi Institute. For thirty
years Kushi Institute has assisted thousands of people recover from serious illness
or optimize their health.
"I
came to Kushi Institute as a support person for Sue, my wife, who had breast cancer.
I actually gained so much more than I imagined, physically, emotionally and spiritually.
This is a special place on this earth with healers extraordinaire. I will be forever
indebted for my wife's full recovery and all I was given here."

Like
other Kushi Institute staff and faculty, I choose to work here and support Kushi
Institute because of the profound difference it has made in my life and the difference
I can make in the life of others. All of us here at Kushi Institute recognize
the deep impact our work has, not only on the individuals who come seeking help
and guidance, but on everyone else their lives will eventually touch.
Ours
is a work of love, not glamorous or accompanied by high financial rewards, but
work that is done in the service of fellow human beings, which carries with it
much higher and longer lasting rewards than fame or money.
"In
2002 I was diagnosed with emphysema and had to quit my job as a welder. Despite
treatment I got worse to the point that I was on oxygen 24 hours a day and could
barely walk or take part in a conversation. Someone told me about Kushi Institute's
Way to Health program, but since I was out of work I could not afford it. Kushi
Institute gave me a full scholarship, and during the program I started to feel
improvement. In just a couple of weeks after the program I did not need the oxygen
tank and was walking miles every day. My doctor could not believe the improvement,
he had never seen this happen. I got my life back thanks to Kushi Institute."
